At the senatorial headquarters of Kabba, Senator Adeyemi addressed residents including Nigerians of diverse ethnic origins and expressed the hope that the recipients of the largesse would put the items towards the economic development of the district. “I decided to invest lots of money to buy these equipment and motorbikes to empower our people regardless of creed or ethnic identity to improve their personal development and in turn help the state’s economic development,” Adeyemi told a cheering crowd.
Among the audience was Chief Oliver Eze, the Chairman of Igbo Traders Association in Kabba and other leaders from Ijumu and Koto.
The donation of computers to the constituents is expected to improve computer literacy among citizens that are yet to catch up with the fast pace of information technology around the world. The water pumping machines will support water supply to families that struggle with adequate water supply for their daily activities.
The motorbikes, the Senator said, would reduce unemployment in the district because with regular operation the motorbikes have the potential to raise the economic fortunes of the riders and their families. “
This is a handshake and not a handout because the Senatorial district has given the constituents the tools to fish and feed themselves for a long time.”
