Labour Party chieftain in Enugu Barr. Lucky Chukwu has accused the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and the police of complicity to rig in the yet to hold Enugu South Urban State Constituency bye-elections.

Addressing newsmen in Enugu at about 9:00 am, Barr. Chukwu alleged that results have been prepared for the elections that have not been conducted in the eight polling units of the constituency and maintained that INEC has failed to make the result sheets available.

In his words, “In Enugu South at about midnight, election results were carted away. The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Chukwuemeka Chukwu and the police carted away the result sheets. The results have already been written.

BVAS must be used. The INEC Electoral Officer, Francis Chigbo refuses to show the electorates the result sheets. Results must be uploaded in IREV and I challenge INEC to do that.”
